We had a tremendous night last night at Lighthouse Baptist Church! Our focus was on ministry, which is serving God by serving another human being. We focused on connecting and caring for one another and the community around us. We were thrilled to sign up for various ministries of the church, not for the sake of having something to do, but because we realize that we need to care.
This truth needs to soak deep into each of our hearts: do we care for others? It’s wonderful to care for your spouse, your parents, and your children, but do you care for others? Caring is love in action. Our call to care comes from the Savior when He taught us that the greatest commandment is to love God, and the second greatest is to love others as we love ourself. Be interested in someone else today. Invest yourself into someone else today. Pay attention to someone else’s needs, goals, joys, and sorrows. Plan to make an impact on someone other than you. Truly, as you minister to others with the right heart, your service is directed toward the King.
