Remembering Dale Nansen

Remembering Dale – Excerpts from testimonies of family and friends

“Building a father and daughter relationship with my father has shown me what an amazing man he was.” “We shared some birthdays, Christmas, and picnics in Kansas with kids’ games and programs. He was always a great cheerleader. He had been an athlete in high school and had plenty of advice.” “My dad and his brother were in a movie with John Wayne. When they would have a break he played cards with the Duke. Cool, huh?” “My dad was a prayerful man and when he said he was praying for you, he meant it. It was not empty words. His powerful prayers helped me with my kidney transplant. He even drove from Casper to the KU Medical Center, stayed just a few days to make sure I was good, then drove all the way back.” “I love you dad and already miss you.”  – Robin Robertson, Dale’s oldest daughter

Dale had a giving attitude. He desired to help others financially and also gave of his time. Having been an electrician, he helped me and my mother with some electrical work in our home. He put up the front and back drywall inside the church auditorium and sang special music for the church. He would request song #264 ‘In the Garden’ during favorite request times.  – Stephen West, member of LBC

Bro. Dale was like an adopted dad and grandpa to my daughter Hannah and me. His wife and Hannah had the same birthday, so we exchanged gifts, cards, and love. When Mrs. Nansen passed away, Bro. Dale continued the traditions and we began giving him birthday gifts. When my husband left us, Bro. Dale made sure we were OK and for the next two years he took us to lunch every Sunday after church. As his health got worse we got together less often; however, we still saw each other at church when he was able to attend. We love Bro. Nansen and will miss him greatly. What a joy to know he’s with his wife and our wonderful Savior in Heaven!  – Wendy Moody, member of LBC
